Old-Trafford

Manchester United have a goal difference of zero in the Premier League after 28 games and they must improve the backline to challenge the best teams in the country next season.

If reports in the media are anything to go by then Man Utd have made Jarrad Branthwaite a top target to reinforce the defense in the summer.

Transfer: Man Utd ready to agree over £89.3million fee to secure signing – Report

Back in December last year, iNews revealed United’s interest in signing the star from Everton, who slapped an enormous price tag of £100million.

In the January transfer window, reports in the Italian media indicated that the 20-time English champions want to sign the player, but he ended up staying with the Toffees.

Now, according to story published by The Mirror, Man Utd plot move to finally sign Branthwaite in the next transfer window.

The famous British news source have mentioned that the Merseysiders want a a deal worth £75million for their prized asset.

However, Man Utd will press to agree a discounted fee of around £50million to secure the signature of the 21-year-old center back.

Branthwaite spent last season on loan with Eredivisie side, PSV Eindhoven, and was a key part of the squad that won the Dutch Cup.

This season, so far in 25 appearances in the Premier League, he has helped Everton keep 7 clean sheets.

At the back, Erik ten Hag needs long term replacements for center back veterans like Varane, Maguire, Evans and Lindelof, whose best days are long gone.

In your view, should Man Utd press to secure £50million signing of Jarrad Branthwaite?
