Over the years, we have been linked with Antoine Griezmann a lot and now the French international is once again on our radar.
The World Cup winning star recently revealed that he will be leaving Atletico Madrid in the summer transfer window. After the statement, it was obvious that the top clubs would look to sign him since he is a world class star.
According to reports (The Express & The Star), Man Utd are willing to pay the £107million release clause in Griezmann’s contract to make him the club’s record signing.
Transfer: Man Utd have offered over £61.7million terms to sign star
The Express claim that United would hand him the No.7 shirt, which was worn by his idol David Beckham, and currently owned by a flop signing in the form of Alexis Sanchez.
Opinion:
After the average performances in the attacking third, it has become evident that we need to strengthen a few key offensive areas in this summer transfer window.
Our strike-force is not good enough and a top center forward must be lured. On the other hand, we lack quality and depth in the wide attacking positions. In addition, we need a top star, who could effectively play in the No. 10 role behind the main striker.
The good thing is that Griezmann is a versatile talent, who can play out wide, in the CAM position, as a secondary striker and also as an out and out center forward.
Since moving to the Rojiblancos, the Les Bleus playmaker has been one of the world’s best players and luring him would be a huge capture for us.
The 28-year-old star is at the peak of his game and in the recently concluded campaign, he directly contributed in 31 goals in 48 appearances.
I think all the United supporters would want the club to sell Alexis Sanchez. The Chilean international has been useless since moving to Old Trafford and Griezmann would be worthy of our iconic No. 7 shirt.
this guy we do not need at united. lets look for younger boys good enough to develop and last longer. plus he is too expensive. united need three more defenders and two midfielders
I don’t think Ole knows what he’s doing in man utd. Why is he going after older players who will only last for a short time. Please fire him and Ed Woodward along side.
