Manchester United desperately need to reinforce things in the center of the park and a French international is back on their radar.
Back in December 2023, CM reported that Man Utd have made contact to hire the services of Khephren Thuram, who has also been on the wish-list of Liverpool.
Transfer: Man Utd could ‘raise’ biggest offer and ‘defeat’ all to secure signing
Moreover, back in February this year, TMW reported a valuation of 40 million euros and claimed that the Old Trafford outfit can outbid the Italian rivals to lure the player from Nice.
If the latest reports are anything to go by then Man Utd are willing to finally sign Khephren Thuram, whose asking fee has been lowered considering the current deal will expire next year.
According to L’Equipe, Man Utd are keen on signing the 23-year-old, who is expected to leave Les Aiglons in the summer transfer window.
With his contract expiring in 2025, Nice are looking to get a fee of around £17m-£25m (20-30 million euros).
In the 22-23 campaign, Thuram directly contributed in 10 goals in all competitions. He averaged three shot creating chances per game in the Ligue 1 and was named in the Team of the Season.
In March 2023, the midfielder, who is the son of World Cup winner, Lilian Thuram, made his debut for the Les Blues.
However, after an average last campaign, his market price has dropped and he failed to even make Deschamps’ squad for the European Championships.
Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry, has named him in his squad for the upcoming Olympics in Paris.
As per Tutto Juve, Liverpool were in the mix to lure Thuram but the Merseysiders have now backed out of the race and are looking elsewhere to reinforce the midfield.
Have your say – Should Man Utd bid around £17m-£25m to finally sign Khephren Thuram?
