Transfer: Man Utd put blank cheque on the table to sign £330,000-a-week playmaker – Report
If the latest reports in the media are anything to go by then Man Utd are prepared to meet the asking price to sign the Spanish international in the summer transfer window.
Last month, El Periodico Mediterraneo reported that the 25-year-old star’s current contract with Villarreal has a release clause of 60 million euros and the Yellow Submarine have set an asking price of £42.7million (50 million euros) on their prized asset.
More recently, La Razon have reported that Man Utd are willing to make an offer worth £42.7million to hire the services of the La Roja star.
The Spanish news source have mentioned that Tottenham are interested in luring the 18-capped international as well but Man Utd are the great favorites to get his signing done.
Torres was part of Unai Emery’s side that defeated Manchester United in the final of the Europa League last year. Moreover, he was highly influential in the Champions League in the recently concluded season.
As far as the La Liga is concerned, he started 33 games and helped Villarreal keep 11 clean sheets. Moreover, the Spaniard also directly contributed in 6 goals.
In your view, should Man Utd meet the asking price to sign Torres?
