Manchester United have been linked with Tottenham star Christian Eriksen for quite some time and the Danish international is once again in the focus.
According to The Metro, the Red Devils are keen on hiring the services of the former Ajax star, whose current contract with the north Londoners will expire in the summer.
Transfer: Man Utd have opened talks to sign £43million star in summer – Face competition
The British source have claimed that Man Utd are willing to splash the cash and put up a fee to sign the playmaker in the winter transfer window.
The Old Trafford club opted let Sanchez and Lukaku leave in the summer. Solskjaer failed to replace the duo and now the Red Devils are suffering in the Premier League. United badly need creativity in their team and a proven quality star like Eriksen would be a quality addition.
In the last campaign, the 27-year-old star directly contributed in 27 goals in 51 appearances for Spurs but this season, like the entire team, he has been struggling. So far, in 13 outings, he has only scored a single goal and provided just a single assist.
The four-time Danish player of the year only earns £80,000-a-week (Mirror Sport) and deserves to get a huge pay rise.
As far as his market value is concerned, in the summer, Spurs wanted a huge fee of £70million for their prized asset but the last season’s Champions League finalists can expect to receive around £35million from his sale in winter (The Metro).
Eriksen can play in multiple attacking positions but mainly, he is a central attacking midfielder. The 20-time English champions do have quality players like James and Martial for their wide offensive areas but they clearly need to sign a natural/quality CAM.
In your view, should United splash the cash to sign Christian Eriksen in the winter transfer window?
