Man Utd would be able to offer £120,000-a-week+ contract to sign midfielder – Report

Blaise Matuidi and Paul Pogba for France

Manchester United’s record signing Paul Pogba has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford almost every summer and it seems that even this summer, the scenario will not change.

According to The Sun, the French international could leave the Red Devils and the PL giants are already looking at options to replace him.

Transfer: Report – Man Utd prepared to agree £134,000-a-week terms to secure signing

The renowned British source have mentioned that Pogba dreams of moving to Real Madrid and the 20-time English champions are interested in luring Federico Valverde from the Los Blancos.

The Uruguayan international featured in 33 La Liga games for the 13-time European Champions last term and helped them win their 34th league title. He was also the MOTM in the final of Super Copa against rivals and neighbors Atletico Madrid.

The 22-year-old is a key member at the Bernabeu under the management of French boss Zinedine Zidane, so, signing him is not going to be easy.

The Sun claim that Man Utd would be able to offer him a contract more than his current salary of £120,000-a-week to hire his services but they would be reluctant to activate the release clause of £148million.

The British outlet have perhaps made a mistake because back in 2019, Marca revealed that the clause in Valverde’s deal is worth 750 million euros. Even The Sun exclusively talked about a clause of £640million back in October 2020.

Unfortunately, this season, the South American midfielder has mostly spent time on the treatment table and has only managed to start 8 games in the La Liga. Currently, he is out with a muscle concern.

Man Utd do need to improve their central midfield, they have not reinforced the department since the summer of 2018 and a top player must be lured if Pogba departs this summer. In your view, is Federico Valverde good enough to replace the Les Bleus star at Old Trafford?
