Manchester United signed Antony from Ajax in the summer transfer window and now, Ten Hag is interested in reuniting with Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech.
If reports in the media are anything to go by then the Moroccan international could end up leaving the Blues in the winter transfer window.
News – Man Utd set sights on finally signing £50million player – Report
As per Spanish outlet, Fichajes, for the January transfer window, Erik ten Hag’s first request is to hire the services of Ziyech from the Stamford Bridge outfit.
The news source have mentioned that the Chelsea would accept his departure if Man Utd’s offer is good enough.
In the last window, the Premier League side were willing to sell the player back to the Dutch champions for £37million (The Mail) but the move did not materialize.
The African playmaker was a superstar for Ajax, who won the domestic double in the 2018-19 campaign and reached the semi finals of the UEFA Champions League under the current Old Trafford boss.
However, since moving to London, he has not been able to start regularly. Last season, he only started 14 games in the Premier League, scored 4 goals and provided 3 assists.
In the current campaign, thus far, Ziyech, who can effectively play on either flank and even as a CAM, has only started a single game and featured for just 168 minutes in all competitions.
The 29-year-old surely needs to leave Chelsea to play week in and week out. The 40-capped international’s current deal with the Blues will expire in 2025 and he earns around £100,000 a week (The Sun).
In your view, should Man Utd move in to sign Hakim Ziyech in the winter transfer window?
