Man Utd’s strongest possible 3-4-1-2 XI vs Chelsea with Cavani

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Manchester United won their last league game against Newcastle United and then went on to beat Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League away from home.

Next up, the Red Devils will collide against Chelsea, who failed to beat Southampton last weekend even after leading 2-0 and then ended up getting only a point at home vs Sevilla in the Europe’s elite competition. Who will come out on top?

Transfer: Man United could move to finally sign £63m-£67m player in January – Face competition

As far as the team news is concerned, Solskjaer may make a few changes in the starting XI that played vs the French champions in the midweek.

Keeping in view that Chelsea are a quality attacking side, the Norwegian manager may stick to the more defensive 3-4-2-1 formation that worked well vs PSG.

In the goal, David De Gea had a brilliant night in France and he must start vs the Blues tomorrow. In front of the Spanish shot stopper, the likes of Harry Maguire, Axel Tuanzebe and Victor Lindelof could start in the defense.

As far as the midfield is concerned, record signing Paul Pogba could return to start with Fred. I’d like to see Donny Van de Beek make his first start but for some reason, Solskjaer has not preferred him in the center of the park.

In the wing back positions, the likes of Alex Telles and Aaron Wan-Bissaka may get the nod to start.

In the attacking third, Bruno Fernandes should start in the No.10 role behind two center forwards. Rashford must retain his place after scoring the winning goal vs Paris Saint-Germain and Edinson Cavani should make his debut and partner the England international in the strike-force.

  1. looking at this , wow ! like we can be produce a really strong team that can win trophies and compete with top teams like bayern munich .

  2. Man.Utd have to work on some of the player’s fitness levels. With it comes alertness when passing of the ball. This passing and passing always behind and not moving forward is causing them alot of problems near their goalie. People who are benched need to play more so then Ole will know from that there are a few who were playing yesterday like Daniel James who should not be there as he could hold possession of the ball for too long easily being bullied by the opponents. You need someone like Adam Tarore from Wolves and tough enough to handle tough teams. The new players like Telles and Edison Cavani need to play more games. Ighalo also given a chance. Instead of taking Mata off, Daniel James should have been out. I think the management of this team is still not in order. Look at Pogbha, Bruno, Luke Shaw has this tendency of running past players with the ball to almost take it forward also Rashford has that consistency of moving fast on the ball. We need alot of them like this.
Edison got a very nice style of playing. I am sure he has got alot more to give and we look forward to seeing such exciting players.
