Manchester United agree surprise deal with £100,000-per-week star

According to reports from the Sun, Manchester United have already extended Luke Shaw’s contract by another year.

Manchester United splashed a whopping £30million to acquire the services of Luke Shaw from Southampton during the summer of 2014 and given the huge outlay on the then teenager, a lot was certainly expected from the youngster.

A series of persistent injury problems as well as inconsistent performances however, have meant that Shaw has not even come close to justifying his huge price tag and there were even reports that Manchester United were keen on selling the defender this summer after failing to impress manager Jose Mourinho.

In surprise reports from the Sun though, revelations have been made that United have instead already extended the contract of Shaw till 2019 and are looking to give the 22-year-old more time to prove himself at Old Trafford.

Shaw’s current contract, worth £100,000-per-week, was set to expire at the end of the 2017/18 Premier League season but the Red Devils have already triggered a year’s extension – if reports are to be believed, and the England international has now been handed a fresh opportunity to prove himself to Mourinho.
