Not Bale, Manchester United set to offer £22m for this attacker

According to reports carried out by the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are among the favourites to acquire the services of Arsenal midfielder Ozil.

United are in the market to sign a new playmaker, as evidenced by their pursuit of Mesut Ozil, and if they miss out on the German international, Rodriguez could prove to be a more than capable alternative.

James Rodriguez made a loan move to Bayern Munich over the summer after struggling for regular minutes on the pitch at Real Madrid and the Bavarian giants have the option to sign the Colombian international on a permanent basis at the end of the season.

Rodriguez has already made 15 appearances for Bayern during the current campaign so far but with Bayern not producing their usual top class performances, there has been speculation that the 26-year-old could potentially be leaving the Allianz Arena early.

Given the wonderful quality that Rodriguez possesses, a host of clubs will surely be interested in signing him if he becomes available and now according to reports carried out by the Manchester Evening News, the Premier League giant duo of Chelsea and Manchester United are keen on signing the ex-Porto superstar.

BetStars director of trading Ian Marmion told the Manchester Evening News about the potential destination of Rodriguez, “If Rodriguez decides to make a permanent move from Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester United are believed to be in pole position to sign the attacking midfielder.”
