According to Sky Sports, Manchester United and Chelsea are competing for the signature of Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski. The 29-year-old is reportedly keen to exit the Allianz Arena and has changed his agent to aid in his move away from Munich this summer.
Lewandowski joined Bayern from Borussia Dortmund in 2014 and has gone on to score more than 130 goals in over 180 games in all competitions. The Polish international has a host of clubs keen on his services as a result of his outstanding form in recent years, but Bayern have no desire to let him leave.
Manchester United have Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid for competition in their pursuit of star centre-forward, and Sky Sports believe Lewandowski is open to a switch. The problem lies with Bayern, as they’ve no need to part with such a talented attacker whose contract still has three years to run.
The ex-Lech Poznan forward hired super-agent Pini Zahavi to help negotiate a more from Bayern in the coming months, although the next couple of weeks could see the Bundesliga champions reveal their stance on Lewandowski. It’s not the first time they’ve had to deal with rumours about his future, nor will it be the last.
United already have Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcus Rashford as options up front, but Lewandowski would be a stellar acquisition given how prolific he’s been at Bayern.
