According to reports from German outlet Bild, Manchester United will be battling it out against Arsenal in the race to secure the services of Borussia Dortmund attacker Marco Reus.
Marco Reus has long been considered one of the best attacking midfielders in Europe but the 28-year-old has seen his wonderful progress stall over the past few years – largely owing to numerous injury problems.
Reus missed out on the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 European Championships for the German national due team to fitness issues and the 28-year-old has not featured at all during the current campaign for Borussia Dortmund because of a cruciate ligament injury which is set to keep him out until 2018.
Despite his recurring injury issues though, Reus continues to garner the interest from a number of top clubs and according to reports from German outlet Bild, claims have been made that the attacker is currently being monitored by the duo of Manchester United and Arsenal.
United and Arsenal are said to be looking to take a chance on Reus next summer and the attacking midfielder is an attractive proposition for the Red Devils due to the fact that his contract with Borussia Dortmund expires in 2019 and thus, he could be available for a cut-price.
