Manchester United failed to strengthen their central midfield in the summer transfer window and once again wasted time in the winter transfer window as well.
Next summer, the Red Devils must reinforce the midfield department and they have been backed to sign Aaron Ramsey from Juventus.
Transfer: £60million attacker ready to agree Man United move – Report
According to Tony Cascarino, the former Arsenal man would be an ideal signing for the Old Trafford club. The former Irish international wrote for The Times and stated:
“Ramsey would be the perfect fit for United”
The 29-year-old star is a versatile talent, who can play anywhere in the midfield and even in the attacking third if needed. He played over 350 games for Arsenal and has already proved his worth in the Premier League.
The Welsh international moved to Juventus on a free transfer and signed a lucrative contract worth £400,000-a-week with The Old Lady. (BBC).
Unfortunately, the former Gunners midfielder has mainly warmed the bench under the management of ex Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri.
The Italian manager has got more than a few midfield options with players like Pjanic, Matuidi, Rabiot, Bentacur around. Not to forget, Khedira is out injured and Can was loaned out to Dortmund in the winter transfer window.
In such a scenario, so far, Ramsey has only managed to start just 6 games in all competitions. Overall, he has made 19 appearances and scored 2 goals for the Bianconeri.
So, in all fairness, the 58-capped international needs to move away from the Italian champions to play regular first team football and he has got the quality and the experience to improve Man United’s midfield department.
In your opinion, should Solskjaer move to sign Aaron Ramsey in the summer?
Agewise, he doesn’t fit the transfer mould Ole is adopting. But even if we were to sign him, he would have to take a pay cut. He should not earn more than 200,000 as a united player. Anything more than that would affect the harmony in the dressing room. Besides, he wasn’t that consistent a player when he played for Arsenal. I don’t see him accepting a pay cut and I don’t see united accepting to pay above 200,000. So there goes the theory of him playing for man u. I think Freakish is a more realistic target.
Not sure.
