According to reports carried out by the Daily Star, Manchester United will be battling it out against Real Madrid in the race to acquire the services of Brazilian wonderkid Alan Souza.
Souza is one of the most exciting talents to have emerged from Brazilian football in recent times and the 17-year-old has managed to grab the attention of a number of top clubs with his performances for Palmeiras as well as the Brazilian Under-17 national team.
Spanish and European champions Real Madrid have been credited with a strong interest in Souza and reports emerging from Spain had gone as far as claiming that Los Blancos had already agreed a deal to sign the teenage sensation next summer.
However, such reports have been refuted and now the Daily Star have gone on to claim that Manchester United will be looking to challenge Real Madrid in the race to sign Souza as Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho is believed to be a fan of the Brazilian wonderkid.
United have been strengthening their academy with a number of exciting signings in recent times and now the Premier League giants are set to battle with Madrid for arguably one of the most promising young players in South American football at the moment.
