Danny Rose has handed Manchester United a huge encouragement after admitting he is open to leaving Tottenham Hotspur.
Manchester United are currently believed to be in the market to sign a new left-back as £30million signing Luke Shaw has not been able to fulfill his potential at Old Trafford and there has been widespread reports that the Red Devils are currently interested in signing Danny Rose.
Rose has managed to establish himself as one of the finest left sided defenders in the Premier League over the past few years with Tottenham Hotspur and United manager Jose Mourinho is believed to be a keen admirer of the 27-year-old.
United were allegedly keen on making a swoop for Rose this summer but considering the fact that he is struggling with a knee injury at the moment, the Red Devils are said to have postponed their approach for the next transfer window.
However in a huge encouragement for United to pursue Rose, the England international has gone on to reveal that he would be open to leaving Tottenham Hotspur to join a club in the North of England and this admission serves as a huge indication that he could be open to moving to Old Trafford if an opportunity presents itself.
Rose said, “I will say this too — I will play up north. I don’t know exactly when, but I will get back up north and play some football somewhere. I moved away from home (from Leeds to Spurs) at 16.
“Yes I’ve got team-mates who have moved away from families in South Korea and Argentina, but I have been away for over ten years now and I don’t get to see my mum that often.
“I am going to make it my priority before I retire to play football up there. My short-term focus is to get back to playing like last year and if I do that the long-term will take care of itself.
“I’m not saying I want out, but if something came to me that was concrete, I’d have no qualms about voicing my opinions to anyone at the club.”
