Speaking following the 1-0 victory over Benfica in the Champions League, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho expressed his concern about the fitness of star attacker Marcus Rashford.
Manchester United grinded their way to a 1-0 victory over Benfica at the Estádio da Luz on Wednesday, night with Marcus Rashford managing the only goal of the game and the win means that the Red Devils are now on the verge of earning qualification into the knockout rounds of the competition.
While the result would surely have been very pleasing for manager Jose Mourinho, he has been left concerned regarding the fitness of attacker Marcus Rashford following the game.
The England international had to be brought off on the 75th minute of the clash and he headed straight down the tunnel with the club physio after coming off of the pitch.
Following the match, Mourinho spoke about the injury suffered by Rashford by stating that the youngster has suffered a knee problem and that the club are currently facing an anxious wait to find out the full extent of the issue.
Mourinho told BT Sport, “It is something in his knee. I thought it was cramp or a bit of fatigue but he said it is something he felt in his knee. I hope it is nothing important.”
