According to reports, Manchester United have decided to promote young Scott McTominay into the first team fold.
Scott McTominay is certainly a very talented young player and he proved his qualities during Manchester United’s pre-season of the United States this summer after putting impressive performances despite coming up against some of the very best players in the world.
In order to hand McTominay regular minutes on the pitch this season, he was made available on loan by United this summer and Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers were said to have expressed their interest in signing the 20-year-old.
The transfer evidently did not come into fruition and now United manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly decided to promote McTominay into the first team, with the youngster being handed the number 39 jersey.
With the plethora of midfield talent available at United, McTominay is unlikely to become a regular at Old Trafford this season but he could feature in the cup matches and the experience will surely be very beneficial for the midfielder’s development as a player.
