Manchester United scouting pacey winger, 20-year-old will cost £50million

According to The Sun, Manchester United are one of many clubs scouting Stade Rennais winger Ismaila Sarr. The 20-year-old, who can operate on either flank and through the middle, has attracted the interest of United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City. Sarr has even received interest from clubs in Germany and Italy, according to agent Thierno Seydi.

United aren’t in desperate need of another attacking player, however, with Marcus Rashford, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial for options. Manager Jose Mourinho is being linked with central defenders and central midfielders. Nevertheless, Sarr is highly-rated and could have a bright future ahead of himself.

The Senegalese international joined Rennes from FC Metz last summer and has gone on to make 27 appearances in all competitions, scoring and creating 10 goals. Sarr lit up the 2018 World Cup in Russia and was been monitored by clubs ever since. He impressed for his new club last season, but his immediately future may be at the Roazhon Park given his lofty asking price.

Seydi says Rennes won’t sell for than £50m this summer, so United would have to break the bank to secure his signature. Given the price, the fact manager Jose Mourinho doesn’t need another attacker and the overall interest in his signature, it’s hard to see the 20-year-old coming to Old Trafford.
