According to El Gol Digital, Manchester United could agree a deal for Marco Asensio who is ‘willing to leave’ Real Madrid this summer. The 22-year-old was previously content at the Santiago Bernabéu as he was getting regular playing time, but he’s reportedly changed his mind and is now looking to exit the club.
Asensio joined Real from Real Mallorca in 2015 and has gone on to make 91 appearances in all competitions, contributing 31 goals. The Spanish international, who boasts 12 caps for his country, has already won two Champions League trophies and one La Liga title in his time with Real, but he could soon be on the move.
Despite making 53 appearances across the board last season, he was substituted on and substitute off in 37 of them. Asensio may feel he’s not a regular in the starting lineup when every player is fit, and El Gol Digital say the rumours about new signings could be what pushes him out of the Bernabéu.
Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar, Chelsea’s Eden Hazard and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah continue to be linked and would surely be picked over Asensio if they did join Los Blancos. With the 22-year-old’s place in the side being up for grabs, he could seek a move to a club willing to make him a regular. United are one of three sides interested and could make an approach this summer.
