Manchester United could agree deal with AS Roma for £80k-per-week outcast

According to Corriere dello sport, Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini is a target for AS Roma this summer, with sporting director Monchi having the Belgian international on his four-player shortlist along with Mateo Kovacic (Real Madrid), Riyad Mahrez (Leicester City) and Simone Verdi (Bologna).

Signed from Everton in 2013, Fellaini has gone on to make more than 150 appearances for United in all competitions, but he’s been out of favour under Jose Mourinho this season. The 30-year-old has made just three Premier League starts and two in the Champions League, making the remainder of his 14 appearances in all competitions from the bench.

His contract is up at the end of the campaign but he’s yet to agree to an extension. Fellaini reportedly wants a lengthier deal to commit his future to the Manchester giants, whereas the Red Devils only want to give him a 12-month extension. As a result, a departure from Old Trafford looks inevitable this summer.

Roma could be his next destination, as Calciomercato say Fellaini has put talks on hold with Galatasaray and Besiktas to try and broker himself a seal to join the Serie A outfit. The £80k-per-week midfielder is still waiting on their verdict, but movement could be made at the end of the season.
