According to Tuttosport, Manchester United could agree a deal with Juventus for Anthony Martial this summer, with the £65k-per-week outcast potentially on his way out of Old Trafford after falling out of favour with manager Jose Mourinho.
Martial joined United from AS Monaco in 2015 and has gone on to make 133 appearances in all competitions, scoring and creating 63 goals. The 22-year-old has struggled for playing time this season, however, making only 17 Premier League appearances, as Alexis Sanchez, Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford and Juan Mata have been competing with the Frenchman for playing time.
The Sun say Mourinho is reportedly happy to let Martial leave this summer and Juventus, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur are linked with the forward. Martial is approaching the last year of his deal at Old Trafford and may seek greener pastures elsewhere if he can’t get more playing time.
Juventus have been keen on his signature and appear to be leading the race for his signature given they’ve reportedly held talks with Martial’s representatives in recent weeks.
With the 22-year-old contributing 14 goals in 17 league starts this season, his sale in the summer would be met with a negative response from supporters. Alexis has struggled for form at United in his debut campaign at Old Trafford, scoring just three goals in 14 games, but Mourinho continues to give the Chilean opportunities over the former Monaco star.
