According to Calciomercato, Manchester United could offer Anthony Martial to Inter Milan to sign Ivan Perisic this summer. The 29-year-old has been a target of the Red Devils since 2014 and nearly made the switch to Old Trafford last summer.
Perisic joined Inter from VFL Wolfsburg in 2015 and has gone on to make 116 appearances in all competitions, scoring and creating 59 goals. The Croatian international was reportedly keen to move from the San Siro in 2017 but manager Luciano Spalletti opposed the transfer.
Calciomercato say the Inter boss wouldn’t stand in Perisic’s way if he wanted to leave this summer and could target Martial as a potential replacement. The Manchester United forward has an uncertain future as he’s been somewhat of a bit-part player under Jose Mourinho this season and could be granted an exit.
The £45million star is somebody Mourinho has long been keen on so it could be possible that a player he doesn’t want to keep could be used in a deal.
The United boss won’t sign the Croat without letting an existing player leave as he’s made it clear that he doesn’t plan to bolster the overstocked attack – Alexis Sanchez, Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata – so Martial might be one sacrificed to bring Perisic to Old Trafford.
