Speaking to NBC Sports, Daley Blind has said he is desperate to see Manchester United re-sign superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Manchester United acquired the services of Zlatan Ibrahimovic last summer on a free transfer and while there was no doubting his immense quality, many felt that the Swedish superstar would struggle in the physical nature of the Premier League at the age of 35.
As it turned out though, Ibrahimovic managed set the Premier League alight with his fine performances and finished the campaign with an impressive 28 goals in all competitions, which proved crucial in the Red Devils winning the EFL Cup and the Europa League.
However, a serious cruciate ligament injury suffered during a Europa League clash against Celta Vigo meant that Ibrahimovic’s season was cut short and with the striker set to be ruled out till next year, United have released the 35-year-old.
Nonetheless, Ibrahimovic re-signing for United still remains a possibility as he is currently using the club’s facilities to nurse himself back to full fitness and defender Daley Blind believes that his club should pull out all the stops to keep the ex-Inter star at Old Trafford next season.
Blind said, “No doubt he would again be another big signing and last year he gave a big boost for the team. He is still a great player and great person and he makes everything better.”
