According to reports from the Daily Star, Manchester United are very keen on acquiring the services of Barcelona star Sergi Roberto.
Manchester United were widely linked with a move for Sergi Roberto over the summer but despite the incessant links, the Red Devils were not able to acquire the services of the Spaniard as Barcelona were not willing to allow him to leave. According to the source(Diario Gol) mentioned in the Daily Star’s article, Jose Mourinho has already contacted Roberto’s agent to discuss a possible move.
During the first half of the campaign in La Liga so far, Roberto has put strong performances for Ernesto Valverde’s table topping side and his displays have testified the fact that the 25-year-old is a quality player whom Manchester United can certainly use.
Manchester United are set to reignite their interest in Roberto as manager Jose Mourinho is said to be desperate to sign the midfielder and the Premier League side stand a good chance of completing the signing.
Roberto is currently said to be demanding a pay rise to stay at the Nou Camp and as the Spanish giants are currently not willing to agree to such demands, United are said to be in pole position to finally land the services of the player they wanted in the summer.
