According to reports from the Sunday Mirror, Arsenal are considering a surprise move for Manchester United attacker Anthony Martial.
Arsenal may have held on to the services of Alexis Sanchez this summer but it looks all but certain that the Chilean superstar will eventually be departing the Emirates – either during the January transfer window or at the end of the season.
Therefore, Arsenal are already looking at options to replace Sanchez and according to recent reports from the Sunday Mirror, the Gunners are currently said to be plotting a swoop for Manchester United star Anthony Martial.
Martial is not believed to have the strongest of relationships with United manager Jose Mourinho and although the Frenchman has enjoyed a fantastic start to his Premier League campaign this term, it is believed that he could leave Old Trafford in search of regular starts on the pitch.
As a result, Arsenal are said to have been exploring the possibility of signing Martial and are looking to convince the youngster to join the Emirates Stadium by offering him an opportunity to play down the middle on a regular basis.
While Martial would surely be a very good signing for Arsenal, such a transfer looks unlikely as Mourinho will surely not be willing to allow the French international to leave for a rival club and in addition, he would also not like to help his long time adversary in Arsene Wenger.
