According to reports from Dutch outlet Football Oranje, Manchester United winger Andreas Pereira is set to join Eredivisie side Utrecht.
Andreas Pereira is undoubtedly an extremely talented young player and the Manchester United coaching staff certainly regard the 21-year-old very highly.
That said though, the fierce competition for places at United – especially in the attacking positions, means that Pereira is unlikely to become a regular for the Red Devils’ starting lineup anytime soon and as a result, a loan move for the Brazilian had been touted as a possibility this summer.
Having impressed in La Liga last season with Granada, another Spanish side in Valencia were said to be keen on making a swoop for Pereira in the final days of the transfer window but it now looks like the youngster is heading elsewhere.
As reported by Football Oranje, Pereira is set to join Eredivisie side Utrecht on a season long loan deal and the attacker has been viewed as a replacement by the Dutch side for Yassin Ayoub.
The switch in destination for Pereira certainly comes as a surprise but the attacker did spend his youth years at PSV Eindhoven and he will surely have no problems whatsoever in adapting to the Dutch top flight once again.
