Conte wants board Support — Man United Face Threat to Sign £50M valued Star

Ivan Perisic Inter Milan

According to reports from the Times, Antonio Conte is struggling to convince his board over transfer targets, and looking to gazump Manchester United’s hopes of securing the services of Inter Milan star Ivan Perisic.

Manchester United have long been pursuing the services of Ivan Perisic this summer and after protracted negotiations, it finally seemed like the Red Devils would be able to sign the Croatian international as recent reports have claimed that the player’s agent is set to hold crunch talks with Inter regarding his future.

It is clear that United manager Jose Mourinho is keen on acquiring the services of Perisic this summer and there is now a possibility that the Red Devils might just agree to Inter’s £50million valuation of the 28-year-old.

However, United now potentially face another barrier in their hopes of signing Perisic as the Metro have gone on to reveal that even defending Premier League champions Chelsea have expressed their interest in the Winger and that manager Antonio Conte is desperate to sign the attacker.

Chelsea have faced a lot of frustration in the summer transfer window so far, including missing out on Romelu Lukaku to United and the Blues are now looking to turn the tables on their rivals by making a swoop for Perisic.

If Inter do allow Perisic to leave San Siro this summer, it will be interesting to see which club the quality attacker decides to join.
