Manchester United left-back Ashley Young received the bulk of praise from the club’s supporters after he produced a strong performance against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.
The England international was responsible for United’s opener as his ambitious shot took a deflection off defender Lewis Dunk – sufficient enough to beat the Seagulls goalkeeper.
Prior to the goal, the match appeared to be hanging in the balance with clear-cut opportunities few and far between for either side, and Young’s gamble with the reaped rewards at the end.
Here are some of the best tweets over Young’s performance…………
Ashley Young winding back the years with that deflected goal. Could carry huge importance.
Young has performed well every time he's played this season. Kudos.

Ashley Young at the age of 32 has been absolutely unbelievable for United this season. So relieved we've scored.

Just saw Ashley Young's goal, it doesn't get much more United than that.

Young is currently under strong competition for places at left-back, but he has, for now, remained the preferred pick owing to his ability to push forward regularly to help out his fellow attackers.
While Marcos Rojo is more of a centre-back nowadays, the likes of Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind have been mostly used in the Cup games as they have not offered much going forward.
Luke Shaw, on the other hand, has been on the periphery of the United first-team, and his future looks bleak with Jose Mourinho urging him to work harder in training in order to push for regular gametime.
