Manchester United fans appreciated the performance of Jesse Lingard who scored a brilliant brace in the 3-1 Premier League win over Arsenal on Saturday. The England international notched the second goal of the game after a fine assist from Anthony Martial, while also coming up with the match-defining moment in the second period where a brilliant run from Paul Pogba allowed him a close tap-in past Petr Cech.
David de Gea starred on the other end with Premier League record-tying 14 saves, but Lingard was nevertheless adjudged the man of the match as his goals sealed United’s first win at Arsenal in three attempts. The Englishman also scored a brilliant solo effort at Watford earlier in the previous outing, and he looks on course to start in the Manchester City, a week on Sunday.
Here are the best reactions after Lingard’s performance….
That was one of the best Premier League games in years, helped in part by United coming to attack. Lingard is such a brilliant option in away games.

Manchester United are now just five points behind table-toppers Manchester City, but the Citizens still have a game in hand versus West Ham United, which they are most likely to win on Sunday. For all the positives, Pogba received a straight red card for challenging Hector Bellerin showing with his studs, and Jose Mourinho will have to set up his game plan without the Frenchman’s services.
