Manchester United flop makes a strong claim that will hurt fans

Former Manchester United attacker Memphis Depay has stated that he will play for Spanish giants Real Madrid in the future.

After showing enormous promise at PSV Eindhoven, Memphis Depay earned a move to Manchester United during the summer of 2015 and many had expected the Dutchman to shine at Old Trafford – considering his immense potential.

As it turned out though, Depay struggled to produce the goods on the pitch for United and his time at the club was plagued with numerous accusations of the winger having attitude problems.

Following the arrival of Jose Mourinho as manager last season, Depay fell down the pecking order at United and the winger was duly sold by the Red Devils to French side Olympique Lyonnais during the January transfer window for around £22million.

Since moving to Lyon, Depay has managed to get himself back to his best and now the ambitious 23-year-old has gone on to make a bold claim that he will be playing for Spanish giants Real Madrid in the near future.

Depay said, “I believe that I’m going to play for Real Madrid one day. That’s my objective. When will it be? Only God knows. He’ll help me and take me there.”

There is no doubting Depay’s wonderful talent but his poor attitude has already seen him struggle at United and it remains to be seen as to whether Real Madrid would be willing to take a chance on the young winger – no matter how well he performs for Lyon.
