According to reports from Calcio Mercato, Manchester United have been cleared the path to acquire the services of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic after Juventus drop their interest in the player.
Manchester United certainly look like contenders for the Premier League title this season as manager Jose Mourinho has assembled a very strong squad at Old Trafford over the summer but nonetheless, the Portuguese tactician is always on the lookout to improve his squad.
Signing a new midfielder as replacement for Michael Carrick is believed to be next on the agenda for Mourinho and Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is a player who has consistently been touted in the media to join the Red Devils over the past few weeks.
United were allegedly facing fierce competition from Italian giants Juventus in the pursuit to sign Milinkovic-Savic but now as a huge boost in the Premier League side’s hopes of landing the 22-year-old, the Old Lady are said to have pulled out of the race as they want Liverpool’s Emre Can instead – according to Calcio Mercato.
United apparently have now been handed a clear path to pursue Milinkovic-Savic but he will not come cheap at Lazio are said to have slapped a whopping €80million price tag on the midfield sensation.
