Man United hold ‘informal transfer talks’ with £60million-rated star attacker: report

Willian Chelsea

Manchester United are understood to have made initial contact with the representative of Chelsea attacker Willian with regards to a possible summer move. United boss Jose Mourinho was responsible for pursuing Willian for Chelsea back in 2013 and the Portuguese has since spoken fondly about the winger despite moving on from the club.

According to M.E.N, United have held informal talks with the Brazilian’s entourage as they attempt to lure him to Old Trafford during the summer. Mourinho has previously stressed that he has no intention of bolstering the forward department but the weakness on the right-wing could tempt the Portuguese to pursue a new recruit.

The likes of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Juan Mata have all been inconsistent on the right side of the attack and the £60million-rated star appears a probable option with his workrate and quality of delivery often impressive from the position.

Earlier in the month, there had been the talk of a swap between Martial and Willian and United’s interest in the latter may tempt the Blues to discuss a probable exchange deal for the Frenchman, who has had limited gametime this campaign.

Martial was a key performer for United during the first five months of the season, but since the arrival of Sanchez, he has struggled to replicate his old form owing to a positional change and the competition within the ranks.
