According to the Mirror, Manchester United are considering a move for AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson as a potential replacement for David De Gea who’s been linked with a move to Real Madrid.
De Gea has been in fantastic form for United this season, keeping 15 clean sheets in 27 Premier League appearances. The 27-year-old has shipped just 19 goals and is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
Real Madrid have been keen on the former Atletico Madrid shot-stopper ever since he moved to Old Trafford in 2011 and came close to landing his signature in 2015.
With Los Blancos being heavily linked again this season, United are looking at replacements should the worst happen. Roma’s Alisson is a player high on their last, but the catch is that Chelsea are also in the running for his signature.
The Blues are considering the 25-year-old goalkeeper as a replacement for Thibaut Courtois who has been also linked with Real. Both Premier League giants look set to lock horns over the £44m man as a result.
Alisson has kept 11 clean sheets and conceded just 19 goals in 25 Serie A games this season. He joined Roma from Internacional in 2016 and the Brazilian has gone on to make nearly 50 appearances.
De Gea and Courtois will be out of contract with their respective clubs in 18 months, and a lack of progress in talks over a new deal will force one of the two sides to bring in somebody to take their place.
