According to reports from Spanish outlet Don Balon, Manchester United have expressed an interest in acquiring the services of Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane.
Manchester United continued their flawless start to the season with a 4-0 victory over Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday and on current form, the Red Devils certainly look a good bet to win the Premier League title.
Despite such a promising start though, manager Jose Mourinho is constantly looking to improve his squad and in sensational reports from Spanish outlet Don Balon, claims are being made that the Red Devils are currently plotting a swoop for Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane.
Varane has managed to establish himself as one of the finest central defenders in the world since making a move to Madrid from Lens back in the summer of 2011 and he was handed his debut at the Santiago Bernabeu by Mourinho.
Understandably, Mourinho is a keen admirer of Varane’s abilities and it is believed that he is hoping to sign the French international this summer, with the likes of Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo consistently being linked with moves away from Old Trafford.
However, recruiting Varane will surely not be easy as he is already the first choice option for Madrid and United will need to offer a significantly higher wage package in order to convince the 24-year-old to leave his current surroundings.
