Manchester United look to thrash out a deal to sign £53million rated star – Face competition

Gianluigi Donnarumma Milan

Manchester United have not yet agreed a new deal with star shot stopper David De Gea and it will not come as any surprise to see the Spaniard leave this summer.

As per reports going on in the media, the Red Devils are linked with a top class goalie in the form of AC Milan star Gianluigi Donnarumma.

According to CalcioMercato, if the Rossoneri fail to qualify for the next season’s Champions League, the Red Devils will be on red alert as they look to thrash out a deal to sign the Italian international.

The Italian outlet have mentioned that PSG are also interested in the young goal keeper, who could cost at least €60million (£53million).

Transfer: Man Utd have offered over £61.7million terms to sign star

Going into the final league game of the season, AC Milan are 5th in the table, a point behind 3rd placed Atalanta and 4th placed Inter Milan.

In the current campaign, Donnarumma has so far made 35 league appearances for the seven time European Champions, conceded 31 goals and kept 12 clean sheets.

Italian legend Buffon served the national team for more than two decades and after his retirement, Donnarumma took charge as the new No. 1 goalie. The youngster has already made 12 appearances for the four time World Champions.

In all fairness, David De Gea was below average in the last campaign and his poor performances cost Manchester United big time. The fact that he has not signed a new deal with the club indicates that he might be looking to leave.

In my view, United should get rid of De Gea and splash the cash to replace him with the Azzurri star, who just turned 20 earlier this year and is regarded as a top quality goalie.

  1. I hate the rate in which transfer duties are organised in man utd. if De gea wants out of the team then ole should cash him up and sign donnarumma. I know De Gea will cost nothing less than £70 million so £53 million I not too much for a 20 year old. The team needs at least 7 new players(2 defenders, 2 midfielders and 3 attackers)
