The Red Devils’ interest in James Rodriguez is still on, but the bookmakers listed PSG as the biggest favorite to be the Colombian’s next destination, with United and Chelsea falling behind.
Daily Star reports that PSG are at 6/4 to bring the attacking midfielder to Paris, United is second at 2/1, while Chelsea has 11/4 chances to lure Rodriguez to Stamford Bridge. The 25-year-old struggled with playing time last season after he appeared in only 30 matches and scored 11 goals, but also recorded just 13 starts in La Liga, and is desperate to leave Real Madrid in order to get more playing time and a key role.
It seems that Zinedine Zidane prefers other players and although Real expressed that they would like to keep the Colombian magician at Santiago Bernabeu, they will probably accept an adequate offer by the end of the summer transfer window. It became apparent that the Spanish champions cannot keep both Alvaro Morata and Rodriguez in Madrid, and it looks like James is closer to exit door at the moment.
James is on Mourinho’s shortlist for quite some time now, and he is still interested in bringing him to Old Trafford, but Antonio Conte and Chelsea reportedly offered a massive £132 million bid for Morata and Rodriguez. Real will need to sell to fund the transfer of Kylian Mbappe, and after United declined to match Morata’s valuation of £80 million, they will try to get James as a direct replacement for captain Wayne Rooney, who is expected to leave for Everton in the coming days.
At the same time, James refused to rule out a move to Real’s arch rivals Barcelona, and although the Catalonian giants are not quite keen on bringing the Colombian to the Nou Camp, he will consider the move if the offer comes in.
