Man United make final decision on £48million target

Ivan Perisic Inter Milan

As reported by the Independent, Manchester United have decided to end their pursuit of Inter Milan attacker Ivan Perisic.

Manchester United have been pursuing the signature of Ivan Perisic all summer long but they have evidently not been successful in acquiring the services of the Croatian international, despite making numerous attempts.

With the transfer deadline day fast approaching, many media outlets had claimed that United would be making a last-ditch attempt to convince Inter to part with Perisic but now according to the Independent, the Red Devils are said to have formally dropped their interest.

It is believed that United are not left happy with the fact that Inter raised their asking price for Perisic and also asked to involve Anthony Martial in the deal during negotiations and the Red Devils are now not willing to negotiate further with the Italian giants.

In addition, Croatia national team manager Ante Cacic has confirmed that Perisic will be staying put at Inter this summer and is now on the verge of agreeing a new deal at the San Siro.

Cacic said ahead of Croatia’s World Cup qualifier against Kosovo on Saturday, “I spoke to Ivan Perisic, he is happy at Inter. The coach [Luciano Spalletti] appreciates him, they are preparing a new contract for him.”
