According to reports from the Daily Express, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is ready to battle with Chelsea in the race to sign Torino striker Andrea Belotti.
Manchester United had enjoyed a bright start to their Premier League campaign but following a run of poor results in recent times, the Red Devils’ hopes of winning the title has been severely jeopardized.
With Manchester City not letting up at the top of the table, United already find themselves a sizeable 8 points off of their rivals in the race for the title and the Red Devils certainly need to bring about dramatic improvements in order to reduce the deficit.
In order to do so, it is widely believed that United will be looking to strengthen their squad with a number of attacking players during the January transfer window and according to reports carried out by the Daily Express, claims are being made that the Premier League side are currently plotting a swoop for Torino attacker Andrea Belotti.
Belotti has been one of the most prolific attackers in Serie A over the past few years, scoring 33 goals in just 47 appearances for Torino and his fine performances have earned him the attention from a host of clubs across Europe.
United are among the teams that are very keen on signing Belotti, with manager Jose Mourinho said to be keeping an eye on the Italian international but the Portuguese boss will have to compete with former club Chelsea in the race to sign the attacker.
