According to reports from the Daily Mail, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho scouted RB Leipzig star Emil Forsberg during Sweden’s World Cup qualifiers against Italy.
Manchester United’s recent poor run proves that they need to further strengthen the squad in order to be able to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title and manager Jose Mourinho already seems to be well aware of this fact.
As a result, a host of names have been linked with a move to United in recent times and now according to reports from the Daily Mail, Mourinho is plotting a swoop for RB Leipzig attacker Emil Forsberg.
Forsberg managed to catch the attention of the world with his fine performances last season where he helped RB Leipzig finish second in the Bundesliga table by scoring 8 goals and providing a sensational 22 assists in 30 league appearances.
Forsberg has continued his rich vein of form during the current campaign as well and as a result, the attacker is now being eyed up by United.
It has been reported that United boss Mourinho was on a scouting mission to watch Forsberg closely during Sweden’s World Cup qualification playoffs against Italy and the Portuguese tactician would surely have been left impressed by the 25-year-old as he played a starring role in his side’s 1-0 victory on the night.
