Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira will reportedly discuss his future at the club with Jose Mourinho once he returns from his season-long loan with Spanish club Valencia.
The versatile attacker impressed under Mourinho during United’s pre-season tour of the United States, and there were suggestions that the Brazilian could play a role with the first-team squad.
However, Pereira’s impatience urged him to pursue a year-long loan with Los Che in the Spanish league, and this has gone on to benefit Scott McTominay, who has emerged as the find of the season.
According to ESPN, Pereira is expected to hold showdown talks with the manager during the summer as he seeks assurances over his playing time for the 2018/19 season and beyond.
Pereira has been earmarked by Mourinho as someone, who can offer creativity from the centre of the park, but his time at the Mestalla does not appear to have helped in this aspect.
The 22-year-old has mostly featured for the Los Che on the wings this term, and his future in a central role may be dependent on his commitment during the next pre-season tour.
Pereira returned to first-team action for Valencia last weekend after a two-month lay-off with a thigh injury. He has contributed one goal and three assists in 22 appearances for Valencia across all competitions.
He is not good enough for MAN U.
McTomminay has had a few so-so games, but he is also not good enough for MAN U.
