According to reports from the Daily Mail, Manchester United are plotting to tie down Jose Mourinho to a brand new contract before the end of the season.

Barring the drab draw against Liverpool over the weekend, Manchester United have been very impressive so far this season and the Red Devils’ fine form has largely been down to manager Jose Mourinho transforming the squad.

The current crop of players at Old Trafford look more than capable of challenging for honours this season and Mourinho certainly seems like the man who will be leading the club back to their glory days in the foreseeable future.

That being said though, Mourinho recently cast a huge doubt regarding his long term stay at United by hinting at a move to French giants Paris Saint-Germain and this has certainly left a section of the Red Devils’ faithful very worried.

He had said, “I’m still a coach with worries, with ambitions, and with the desire to do new things. I’m sure that I won’t end my career here.

“The other day my son who lives in London went to Paris and not to Manchester to watch the match. At the moment in Paris there is something special. Magic, quality, youth, it’s fantastic.”

Even the United hierarchy have been left alerted following Mourinho’s admission and now according to reports from the Daily Mail, the club are making moves to hand the 54-year-old a brand new contract at Old Trafford.

Mourinho currently still has 18 months remaining on his deal at United but the club are now already making plans to hold discussions with the Portuguese boss over an extension within the next few months.
