Manchester United are reportedly stepping up their interest in Juventus’ Alex Sandro and a deal could be sorted soon after the club’s FA Cup final against Chelsea this weekend.
United boss Jose Mourinho has been content with the contribution of Ashley Young at left-back this campaign but he is still keen on adding Alex Sandro to the ranks to close the gap of Manchester City.
According to The Times, both United and Juventus are likely to hold discussions over the player shortly after the FA Cup final and the Brazilian has supposedly urged the Bianconeri to sanction his sale to Old Trafford.
United have been associated with Tottenham Hotspur’s Danny Rose, Celtic’s Kieran Tierney, and Napoli’s Faozi Ghoulam to strengthen the left-back position in recent but Sandro now appears as the leading candidate.
Nevertheless, the Brazil international won’t come on the cheap and United may have to pay a minimum fee of around £53m in order to pursue the services of the former Porto man.
One of United’s key weakness this term has lied on the reduced impact from the full-back positions and Sandro would certainly make a key improvement with his tendency to make overlapping runs on the attack.
