Manchester United ready to make £60m bid for Mourinho favourite

Manchester United are understood to be preparing a £60m in order to sign Chelsea winger Willian during the current transfer window. The Brazil international is said to be unsettled with the Blues after making just 20 league starts under Antonio Conte last term.

According to The Mail, United boss Jose Mourinho is seemingly keen on a reunion with the 29-year-old after the club failed with an enquiry at the turn of the year. It is added that United could make a bid worth £60m in order to tempt the Blues into a sale this summer.

Willian’s workrate and creativity would suddenly provide a boost for United on the right side of the attack, where they are yet to find a suitable personnel. However, the sum appears steep for the Brazilian, who will turn 30 before next season and Mourinho could be best suited spending the sum elsewhere.

Nevertheless, the move could be on, should Anthony Martial be allowed to leave Old Trafford. The Frenchman’s agent has already highlighted the attacker’s intention to pursue a fresh challenge next term and there could be the possibility of a swap agreement with the Blues, who are interested in the former AS Monaco youngster.
