Manchester United in red alert as prolific attacker wants to leave current club: report

Real Madrid legend Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed his desire to move away from Real Madrid in search of a new challenge and Manchester United have been mentioned as a possible destination, according to reports from the Daily Record.

Ronaldo is probably into his final stages as a world class footballer, which means that interested clubs in the Real Madrid legend need to move now in order to get the best from the 32-year-old.

Ronaldo’s former club Manchester United have often been mentioned as the team most keen on signing the Portuguese international and now according to reports, the Red Devils are actively looking at the possibility of landing their former hero next summer.

It is believed that Ronaldo is looking for a move from Real Madrid for a new challenge as he has already spent close to ten years at the Santiago Bernabeu and a move to United is something the superstar has hinted at on numerous occasions.

Now Ronaldo’s recent desire to leave the Spanish capital has given rise in rumors linking him with a return to Manchester United and the Red Devils are also more than happy to welcome the 5-times Ballon D’or winner back to Old Trafford.

Despite the links though, the move could still be unlikely as Real Madrid would not want to let their star leave without being paid a huge fee of around €100million and for a player into his thirties, it would probably not be wise for United to invest so heavily.
