Manchester United have ‘abandoned’ their pursuit of Real Madrid’s Star – Report Claims

According to reports from the Daily Record, Manchester United are unlikely to be pursuing the signature of Real Madrid star Gareth Bale.

Real Madrid are currently believed to be plotting a whopping £160million swoop for Monaco superstar Kylian Mbappe but even for a club as big as the Spanish giants, they will need to offload some players in order to be able to fund such a huge deal for the French wonderkid.

Recently reports have been gathering steam claiming that Madrid will allow Gareth Bale to leave this summer in order to be able to sign Mbappe and Los Blancos are believed to be keen on selling the Welshman to Manchester United, as the English side are one of the few teams in the world who can afford him.

United have been admirers of Bale for quite a while now and the prospective transfer finally coming into fruition this summer was seen as a real possibility by many.

To quench the excitement of the Old Trafford faithful though, the Daily Record have gone on to claim that United will not be pursuing the services of Bale even though he has been put up for sale by Madrid.

The report cite that Bale’s reluctance to leave Madrid is putting off Mourinho while the United board also do not want to involve themselves in the hyper-inflated transfer budgets currently being deployed by Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain to build potential Champions League-winning squads.
