Manchester United have joined in the race to sign Bayern Munich youngster Renato Sanches, according to reports from the Guardian.
Renato Sanches earned himself the reputation as one of the finest young players in world football following his performances for Benfica as well as for the Portugal national team during their victorious 2016 European Championship campaign and German giants Bayern Munich wasted no time whatsoever in splashing £31.5million to acquire his services last summer.
Many felt that Sanches would be able to take his game to the next level upon joining Bayern but unfortunately for the youngster, he was unable to do so and struggled to even hold a regular spot in the extremely talented first team of the Bavarian giants.
Recently club chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has gone on to confirm that Sanches will be made available for a transfer if interested parties match their £43million valuation of the player and a move to AC Milan had been seen as a possibility for the youngster.
However, the prospective transfer to Milan broke down and if reports from the Guardian are to be believed, Manchester United have now entered the race to sign the teenage sensation.
United are in the market to sign a new central midfielder this summer and having scouted Sanches on several occasions in the past, the Red Devils are believed to be confident of finally signing the 19-year-old this summer. It remains to be seen if United will agree to pay as much as £43million for Sanches though.
