According to reports from the Sun, Manchester United are close to announcing a long-term deal for Marouane Fellaini.
Marouane Fellaini may not be everyone’s favourite cup of tea but the midfielder is undoubtedly held in high regard by Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho and as a result, it has been no surprise to see the Portuguese tactician looking to extend the stay of the Belgian international at Old Trafford.
Fellaini had entered the final year of his contract at Manchester United this season and after protracted negotiations, the Sun have gone on to claimed that the Red Devils are finally close to reaching an agreement over the extension for the 29-year-old.
It is now believed that United will announce the new deal for Fellaini imminently and the former Everton star is expected to pocket a significant pay rise to around £130,000-per-week from his current contract worth £80,000-per-week.
Despite struggling over the past few seasons, Fellaini has recently managed to win over the United faithful with his improved performances and the news of his contract extension will probably be welcomed by the majority of the Red Devils’ supporters.
