Manchester United set to activate 23-year-old South American attacker’s release clause

According to surprise reports carried out by Turkish outlet Foto Spor, Premier League giants Manchester United have reached an agreement with Benfica to sign Anderson Talisca.

Manchester United may have spent huge sums of money to improve their squad this summer but that has not stopped the Red Devils being linked with a host of names and the likes of Ivan Perisic and Gareth Bale continually get touted with moves to Old Trafford.

Now in another link from Turkish outlet Foto Spor, claims have been made that Manchester United have struck a deal with Benfica to sign Anderson Talisca after activating his release clause which is believed to be around £25million.

Talisca was seemingly set to be joining Besiktas on another loan deal this summer following his fine spell last season but despite the move being agreed, the 23-year-old was recently recalled by Benfica on the claims that his expected transfer to Turkey had not been completed due to a problem with his paperwork.

The reports adds Besiktas now fear that Talisca has called back to Portugal not because of problems in the legal documentation but instead due to the fact that they have agreed a deal to sell the Brazilian Under-23 international to Manchester United.

It will be interesting to see if indeed United have managed to hijack Talisca’s move to Besiktas and if true, the Turkish side are said to be considering the option of launching an official complaint to FIFA.
