Manchester United set transfer deadline to sign £49m-rated winger

Manchester United have reportedly been offered a week’s time to decide whether they will lodge a fresh attempt to sign Ivan Perisic. The Red Devils have failed with two bids for the Croatia international, who plys his trade for Inter Milan.

Jose Mourinho has stressed the need to recruit a new attacker this summer, who is capable of creating chances while drifting from the wider positions. Perisic has been identified as the prime target to fulfil he role, but the Nerazzurri have been reluctant to accept anything less than £49m for his services.

According to Tuttosport h/t The Express, the Red Devils will have to sort out Perisic’s deal by next Friday or the Nerazzurri will remove him from the transfer market. Inter boss Luciano Spalletti has previously suggested that he would like to keep Perisic at San Siro, but he won’t come in the way of the deal, should United match the player’s asking price.

The Serie A club have previously proposed to take Anthony Martial on loan in a proposed £42m deal for Perisic, but this possibility has been ruled out by Mourinho, who considers the Frenchman as a key part of his plans for the upcoming season.
