Manchester United star ‘furious’ with Jose Mourinho after being ignored vs Spurs

Manchester United forward Anthony Martial has supposedly found it ‘incomprehensible’ after he was left out of the club’s matchday squad to face Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night.

Martial had started the previous outing at Brighton & Hove Albion where he failed to make an impression like many of his teammates but only him and Eric Bailly were dropped entirely for the Spurs clash.

As such, RMC Sport claims that the Frenchman has been left astonished by the decision, thereby further increasing the ongoing tension between him and head coach Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho was clearly not pleased with Martial going AWOL following the birth of his child during pre-season and for that, the Portuguese decided to fine the attacker with two weeks wages.

Since then, there have been suggestions that Martial could make way from Old Trafford but that simply does not appear the case for the moment with Ed Woodward deeming him indispensable.

An earlier report from RMC Sport has revealed that United have already placed a five-year contract on the table for Martial but the attacker is said to want assurances of regular gametime first before prolonging his stay.

Mourinho is once more expected to make multiple changes for the weekend league game at Burnley and both Martial and Bailly could make the matchday squad after being axed versus Spurs.
